The highly anticipated motoring entertainment program, Top Gear Australia, will debut on SBS Television on Monday 29 September at 7:30pm, ten months after SBS, BBC Worldwide and Freehand TV announced the exciting initiative.
The 8-episode series is the first local version of popular BBC program Top Gear to debut and Australian hosts Charlie Cox, Warren Brown and Steve Pizzati have spent the past busy months travelling throughout the country filming a hilarious, fun, informative and locally inspired show.
Calling themselves "the ugliest men on television" the comical Australian larrikins have tested a diverse range of cars, talked, joked and sung their way through countless hours behind the wheel, have donned wool vests, top hats and goggles for stories - although not all in one outing, and have competed against each other in amusing, and sometimes bordering on the side of ridiculous, challenges. But most importantly, they have had a "darn good time".
And then, there's The Stig.
In the first episode of an eight-part series, hosts Charlie Cox, Warren Brown and Steve Pizzati play hard with all-wheel drives on sand and snow. There is a glimpse of the new LP560 Lamborghini Gallardo super sports car, a test drive of the latest Porsche 911 and an altercation with some Great White Sharks.
